Terms and Conditions for Therapy Dog Team Training Course
1. Course Enrolment:
- Eligibility: All participants must be over 18. Ensure their dog is up-to-date with all vaccinations, including Kennel Cough.
- Payment: Blended Online/face to face course: Full payment is due upon enrollment for blended online courses- unless otherwise agreed with the provider.
- Payment: Face to Face Tamworth based course: $250.00 non refundable deposit to hold place in course, full payment required 5 days prior to beginning of course.
- Cancellation/Refunds - General: Across all our courses refunds will be provided if there is a Major Problem with our courses.
Major Problems are identified as -
- we cannot deliver the course,
- the course is faulty or the course is significantly different from its description.
There are no refunds for change of mind, change of circumstances, choosing the wrong course, lack of time to complete the course.
- Cancellation: Face to face courses - a non-refundable fee of $250.00 is payable upon enrolment. Full payment is due 5 days prior start date. If a participant cancels their enrollment during these 5 days, a full refund will be issued if the cancellation is made at least 3 days prior to the course start date. After this deadline, there is no refund provided - due to preparation costs.
- Cancellation: Blended Course (online and face to face), once the course is activated by your enrolment in the moodle platform, we do not provide refunds for change of mind, change of circumstances, choosing the wrong course, lack of time to complete the course only for Major Problems as identified above.
2. Course Conduct:
- Attendance: The online course is self paced, regular participation is essential for the success of the course, you have 6 months to complete the course and attend face to face certification. Application can be made for extension but is at providers discretion.
- Behaviour: Participants are responsible for ensuring their dog behaves appropriately during face to face sessions. Any aggressive or disruptive behaviour may result in the dog being asked to leave the class. Participants are asked to act respectively at all times.
- Safety: All participants must follow safety guidelines as instructed by the trainer.
3. Trainer Responsibilities:
- Instruction: The trainer will provide expert instruction on dog training techniques and methods and therapy dog interventions.
- Assistance: The trainer will offer individual guidance and support to participants.
4. Participant Responsibilities:
- Participation: Participants are expected to actively engage in training sessions and practice techniques at home.
- Communication: Participants should communicate any concerns or questions to the trainer promptly.
5. Liability:
- Personal Injury: The training facility is not responsible for any personal injuries sustained by participants or their dogs during the course.
- Property Damage: Participants are responsible for any property damage caused by their dog during the course.
6. Course Materials:
- Handouts: During face to face sessions participants will receive course handouts containing relevant information. Online participants will have access to information through Moodle Cloud.
- Equipment: Participants may be required to provide their own training equipment, such as collars and leashes and treats.
7. Course Completion:
- Certificate: Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of certification as a Therapy Dog Team.
- Ongoing Support: The trainer may offer ongoing support and advice to participants after the course has concluded.
8. Amendments: The training facility reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be communicated to participants.
By enrolling in this Therapy Dog Team training course, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
